Busy is an Understatement.
Guys. I have been SO BUSY lately. Like ridiculously busy. I'm questioning even how I'm having time to type up this here post for you to tell you about how busy I am...but thanks to mandatory pump breaks throughout the day...here I am reporting for you. So lucky you are.
This past weekend just about did me in. I may have over-extended myself a wittle bit. I am making a strict note of that RIGHT NOW (even as I have 3 "I need fall pictures now please!!" messages sit in my inbox and I do want to squeeze them in if I can butttt I'm resisting cause I really don't want to put myself through how stressful last weekend was) -- I don't want to be that busy again. Because I feel like I'm a bad wife and mom neglecting my hubby and kiddos to work seemingly all.of.the.time.
Okay! So first off, exciting news: the new iPhone X was released on Friday and it arrived at my door about 3pm that same day! To say I was excited for it was a true understatement -- I couldn't wait! And, I hate to admit it, I really haven't had much time to really play with it. I mean, I have a bit, but not a ton cause I have been just so dang busy since it came! I did have a minor snafu setting it up on my end and had to reformat it so that took even longer but yeah, this weekend I didn't get much playtime with it. BUT! I'm sure in the weeks and months to come I'll get oodles. I love the bigger screen yet smaller overall phone size! I don't feel like I'm going to drop it all of the time now. Haha.
So Saturday was BUSYYYYY. Probably my busiest snapping day EVER. I had 3 full shoots (see one of them here...how freaking gorgeous were those colors?! And how cute was this fam?!) at Laumeier Sculpture Park (my current fave spot this fall!) and then newborn twinkies. It was suchhhhh a busy day. Like freaking exhausting and I totally know I overdid it. Because I have a touch of OCD and can't NOT go home and edit my pics, so Saturday night when I got home at 7:30pm from all of that I had 3 sessions I needed to edit...so I did until almost midnight.
At least I looked festive in my Purl Lamb hamburger hoodie, right?! RIGHT.
I hate Daylight Savings Time as much as the next person, but fortunately my kids adapt to it pretty well so that wasn't a huge deal. But I woke up early cause I had shoots at 8 and 9am before having to be up at school at 10:30am for Open House.
Fortunately both of my shoots (you can see one here) were back-to-back at Kirkwood Park, which was looking oh-so-colorful too so that helped. And the weather cooperated too.
But by 10am when I raced home to take a quick shower before heading up to school -- I was already tired. So having 6+ hours of Open House to do tired me to just think about!
Fortunately Open House went well and I was able to make it to Sunday family dinner before literally collapsing with exhaustion by 9pm on Sunday.
Monday I was off school (thank God) but, of course, that just meant more room for pics, right?! RIGHT! So I dropped the big kids off at school and headed to snap this ^^^ little lady's newborn pics. Gosh isn't she a doll?!?! Too cute!
And her mama made me this super cute lantern that I am IN LOVE with and have displayed proudly in our entry way now too!
Mike and I (cause Mike was off too! WOOOOT!) went on a grocery run with Annie, she went down for a nap, I edited pics, Mike went to the gym and then picked up the big kids and then we hauled it up to the park because I had a big Mitz shoot scheduled with some of the cutest models I could round up!
That was so fun. And exhausting! But so fun! I'll share some of that shoot's pics in another post :) After that we met my cousin and her fam at Happy Joe's (BRIBE for the big kids to be good for pics!) and then home for baths and bed. Gosh I'm tired just typing all of this out!
This morning I woke up at 5:30am to write you this here post (kidding! I had a 7am meeting and had to drop the kiddos off by 6:45am) and I am exhausted. Seriously. I need a vacation. I question how I do it and honestly, if Mike wasn't as supportive and just overall awesome as he is, I wouldn't be able to! I have a busy rest of the week having shoots nearly every night and then my last round of minis on Saturday and my two November births are scheduled to be induced next week so I'll have those to snap too! GAH! SO FREAKING BUSY FRIENDS! But it's good. I keep reminding myself that it's good to be busy and to have people literally every single day asking for pics than the opposite. So I'm trying to remind myself of that. But also reminding myself that it's okay to say no and to block off time for family too, cause they come first. Always.
Here's a few snaps I did manage to take of my neglected children from this past weekend. They are cute, aren't they??!
Anyways, that's all I've got for you for this early morning post! I hope you all have a great one my friends!!
